Since 2020, three of the hand sanitisers in the PURELL® Advanced line carry certification through the Cradle to Cradle Certified™ products program - the world's most advanced standard for safe, recyclable and responsible materials as well as products. This certification helps us achieve our sustainability goals by increasing our sales share of third-party certified products.
H2: Why is achieving Cradle to Cradle certification so important?
The Cradle to Cradle Certified™ products program looks at more than just a product's ingredients. Rather, products are evaluated in 5 sustainability categories:

- Reuse of materials
- Renewable energy and carbon management
- Water stewardship
- Social fairness
This comprehensive analysis is not only an internationally recognised mark of product quality, but a process that encourages companies to create better products and fair communities. For example, as part of our innovation process, our formulators consider third-party certification requirements to develop more sustainable products. In addition, certifications of this kind provide a trusted outside voice that enables customers to quickly identify a product with higher environmental and social performance and safe ingredients.

The Cradle to Cradle Certified™ products program provides the most solid third-party validation of this brand promise.
The certificate holders
Three products from the PURELL® Advanced line currently carry the Cradle to Cradle certification on the German and Austrian market. These are the PURELL® Advanced hygienic hand sanitisers, which can be used in the ES4, ES6 and ES8 dispenser systems. Globally, as many as 350 items associated with PURELL® hand sanitisers and PURELL® HEALTHY SOAP® CLEAN RELEASE™ technology have received Cradle to Cradle Gold certification, with the highest possible platinum rating for material health.
