We are proud to announce that as of this month, GOJO Europe collapsible refill cartridges will be made from 100% recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate (R-PET). In other words, the plastic required for the bottles of our refills can be produced without exhausting natural resources as well as lowering carbon emissions by 93%.
It’s a first for the hygiene market and is just one of the steps we are taking to help solve the problem of single-use plastic. What’s more, they have been extensively tested to ensure that using recycled PET does not impact the efficacy of our products or cause any other issues for end users. They passed with flying colours!
Our customers will now benefit from a more sustainable refill, helping to support their own green goals:
- reduction in the use of virgin plastic
- lower carbon footprint
- all at the same consistent cost
In addition to our switch to R-PET, we have big plans for the future. By 2025, we aim to switch all products to 100% recyclable packaging. We also aim to achieve a 30% reduction in the use of virgin plastic and reduce waste by 20%.
By 2030, we pledge that 100% of cosmetic formulas will be classed as ‘biodegradable’ and by 2050, we are committed to achieving carbon net-zero.
