There is cheering in stadiums again

For a long time, stadiums across the world stood silent. No cheering, no enthusiastic fans. But stadium operators have carried out hygiene plans so that sports fans can finally celebrate their idols in larger numbers again. Hand hygiene solutions and dispenser systems are an important cornerstone of these strategies.

Cautious re-opening of stadiums

Fans of major sporting events are happy to cheer for their sports idols right in the stadium again. Football associations have worked on concepts that allow a cautious opening of sports arenas to a greater number of visitors again. For this, each stadium must present a protection and hygiene plan.

A good hand hygiene concept will play a crucial role here. After all, hand cleanliness helps to effectively break infection chains in stadiums.

Transmission pathways in sports stadiums

If, for example, a stadium visitor who is unknowingly infected with COVID-19 sneezes or coughs into his or her hand and then touches a handrail, other people can become infected. Touching the contaminated surface and then touching the face is all it takes to transmit viruses to the mucous membranes. Intensive hand hygiene protects against this transition, however, in a stadium, water and soap are usually not within reach to clean hands.

In these situations, the World Health Organisation (WHO) recommends sanitising hands instead. For this reason, dispenser systems for hand sanitising should be easily accessible to fans throughout the stadium, for example at all entrances and exits, near food stands, in washrooms, on stairways and in the stands.

With PURELL® hand sanitisers, stadium operators can rest assured they are making the right choice. The composition of the hygiene gel is the result of decades of research and is proven to kill 99.99 per cent of all harmful germs – including proven effectiveness against Coronavirus. The gel also helps to moisturise the skin and leave it feeling pleasantly cared for.

Dispenser systems: Elegant and robust design in one

The odourless sanitisers can be offered to sports fans with the new PURELL ES™ hand hygiene systems. These are ideal for highly frequented areas, because they are extremely robust. The dispenser systems contain transparent refill cartridges. This allows stadium operators to see at a glance when it is time to refill the dispenser systems.

Some models can be operated manually, but there are also touch-free types for hand disinfection where a sensor automatically doses the right amount of hand sanitiser onto the palm of the hand.

Sustainable and low-maintenance energy-on-the-refill technology

Special safety in stadiums is provided by the touch-free ES8 dispenser, where each refill pack comes with an integrated button cell battery. The life of the integrated battery lasts exactly until a refill pack is used up. There will never be complaints about empty or non-functioning dispensers again! Stadium operators no longer have to change batteries on spec, but replace them directly with the refill pack.

After use, the batteries can be disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner. PURELL's ES8 system thus reduces battery waste by 68 per cent and greenhouse gas emissions by 15 per cent compared to other non-contact systems. This means that stadium visitors can concentrate on what is really important without having to worry about their own health: The sporting competition. At the same time, the environment says thank you!

Stay healthy!
